Dell is ready to ship the whatchamacallit Alienware M11x by March 1st at a starting price of $799; a full configuration would cost you about $1969. Laugh if you may, Dell is not kidding. This 11.6-inch widescreen 1366×768 (720p) WLED sucker is expensive for the in between netbook and gaming rig range. We are not sure what to make of it. You can’t really play any 3D games on such a small estate screen with the energy saving Intel Core 2 SU7300 processor (1.3 GHz) or its low end SU4100 processor.
Whatever you might need this expensive, in-between netbook and laptop device for, it sure looks good while you are doing it. It sports a 1GB Nvidia GeForce335 Mobile graphic card and a standard 2 GB of memory with the option up to 8GB. On the storage side, a standard 160 GB – 500GB SATAII 5,400 rpm or 256GB SSD on Windows 7.
