Apple’s Ipad, are you ready for another pad?

Well, it is definitely that production of the Apple’s Ipad is a go since the announcement by Steve Jobs last week. It is the first tablet by Apple that runs on Cupertino. It resembles like a large iPod touch.  The front screen is a large, smooth glass much like the iPhone. The large display is about 9.7-in and it is about half an inch thick. It weights about 1.5 pounds, that is light compared to other tablets currently on the market.

The iPad runs on a modified iPhone OS 3.2, so much of the intuitive functions are like the iPhone or iPod but with an a new drop-down menus in application and split screen application display. These applications include Mobile Safari, iTunes and App Stores, YouTube, and with new applications like iBooks and e-reader application which you can download from the e-stores.

Here are the specs:

  • CPU: Apple’s custom 1GHz A4 SOC by Samsung.
  • Display: 9.7-inch, 1024 x 786 (132 PPI), LED backlit IPS with capacitive touch.
  • Storage: The iPad will come in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB.
  • RAM: 512MB
  • Wireless: 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth 2.1, optional 3G connectivity (UMTS / HSDPA 850, 1900, 2100MHz and GSM / EDGE 850, 900, 1800, 1900MHz) through AT&T.
  • Battery life: Up to 10 hours web surfing on WiFi, listening to music, or watching video, and over a month on standby.
  • Dimensions: height: 9.56-inches, width: 7.47-inches, depth: 0.5-inches, weight: 1.5 pounds.
