Panasonic just announced the release of the Lumix DCM-FZ35 Camera by this September. It includes advanced features like HD video recording with the ability to capture photos and video as a point and shoot camera. The Lumix DCM-FZ35 camera makes a great choice for a new or advanced user who wants a hybrid device that shoots high-quality still and motion images. It will feature an 18x zoom lens with equivalent focal length of 27-486mm, a 12.1 megapixel CCD sensor, and Panasonic’s Power O.I.S. optical image stabilization system.
%CODE1% On the back panel of the Lumix DCM-FZ35, it has a 2.7 inch LCD screen and an electronic viewfinder. The Lumix FZ35 can record 720p HD video, which includes AVCHD Lite encoding for advanced compression of HD video with Dolby Digital audio recording. The Lumix DCM-FZ35 Camera also will come with optical image stabilization and facial recognition. In addition, a nice feature called “High Dynamic Mode” which can mimic HDR photography will also be in the Lumix DCM-FZ35. So if you are in the market for an HD camcorder and a digital camera, this would be a great buy.
what is the maximum frames per second the movie mode can record at
@oscarman2 30frames per second
Again, a fantastic superzoom review. I’m sold on this camera because it holds its own against the Canon SX20 and is significantly cheaper, making it the better buy.Love the point in the review when somebody blows their nose very obtrusively lol.
Hi Gordon, thank you for the review. which memory card would you recommend for this camera? do i need a high speed card? Thanks a lot
Just comparing FZ35 video resolution 1290 x 720 mode feature, it doesn’t tell being ‘AVCHDlite’ as newer Lumix DMC-GF1, GH1 and G10 models. Not being AVCHDlite gets troubles when editing video ? I’m planning to buy some of the mentioned, size is not my concern. Any comment is highly appreciated
this camera is not good I like panasonic but I send back because has not image stabilization i was allwayes moved
It does have stabilisation – in fact it’s very good! You can see it working at 4 minutes into the video. Maybe you didn’t have it activated, or you had a broken model. But it does have it, and it works great as you can see in my review at cameralabs.
how is this camera in low light? my birth day is in two weeks and this looks like a good choice of camera to have.
Why, for every camera, do you use the same weird zoom clip.. ?
Why is it weird? It’s one of the most beautiful views and locations on the planet!
